STATUTE
FOR THE COLLECTION AND USE OF THE SCIENTIFIC ARCHIVE OF THE CENTRE FOR ECONOMIC HISTORY RESEARCH
Art. 1. (1) This Statute determines the order and organization of the collection of archival sources in the Scientific Archive (SA) of the Centre for Economic History Research (called CEHR for short) and their use by individuals and legal entities.
(2) The Statute determines:
- Collection and storage of the Scientific Archive;
- The rights and obligations of the users of archival information at the SA (referred to as “users” for short).
Art. 2. (1) The SA of CEHR exists in digital form and its location is determined by the Board of Directors of CEHR.
(2) Its assembly is carried out through:
- Donations of digital copies of archival sources;
- Donations of hard copies of archival sources;
- Purchase of digital copies of archival sources.
Art. 3. (1) A thematic inventory of the newly received archival sources is prepared by a person chosen by the Board of Directors of the Centre who is member of the Centre, called the Head of the SA of CEHR.
(2) The inventory of the archival sources stored in the SA of CEHR is provided to the users after submitting a written application to the Board of Directors (Form No. 1).
Art. 4. The following have the right to use archival sources from the SA of CEHR:
- Members of CEHR;
- Researchers, representatives of scientific organizations (academic institutes, universities, museums);
- Freelance researchers with proven scientific experience;
- Doctoral students who have a recommendation from their supervisors, after review of the Board of Directors of CEHR.
Art. 5. (1) For the use of archival sources by the SA of the CEHR, users submit an application to the Chairman of the Board (Form No. 2).
(2) The application can also be submitted electronically within a two-week period preceding the providing of the archival sources.
(3) The users are obliged to read this Statute and agree with its terms, which they declare by signing the application.
Art. 6. While publishing a study, the users are obliged to indicate the complete bibliographic information about the origin of the used archival sources from the SA of CEHR.
Art. 7. When using archival sources from the SA of CEHR for a scientific publications, priority is given to publishing in the Proceedings of CEHR or in indexed and referenced scientific tomes and journals.
Art. 8. The users are obliged to include a notice at the beginning of their publications indicating that the archival sources have been provided to them by the CEHR.
Art. 9. The archival sources provided to the users for scientific research cannot be shared with third parties or freely distributed on the Internet or elsewhere.
Art. 10. Access to archival sources may be temporarily or partially limited, as well as completely denied, when:
- are on a special storage regime;
- are in process of digitalization;
- have not been inventoried;
- are provided to another user;
- if the applicants’ previous violations is established or their unethical academic practices are found.
Art. 11. Users have personal responsibility for the way of using the information from the archival sources and the observance of the right of ownership.
Art. 12. An integral part of this Statute are:

Art. 13. The present Statute for the collection and use of the Scientific Archive of the Centre for Economic History Research come into force on 06.02.2022.
